It's MY turn!

I met my boyfriend (now Fiance) my junior year of college. My roommate was dating his roommate, and honestly I just wanted to go to a football game with one of those cute corps boys I had seen walking around campus. Never in my life did I ever expect for that one incredibly awkward date to midnight yell to turn into this.
William graduated from A&M in May of 2016, and commissioned into the United States Army as a 2nd Lieutenant immediately after graduation. For the past year, we have been doing long distance, and seeing each other roughly every 3 months. We are both incredibly busy with school and work, and it just isn't financially logical to fly to Kansas every month. The distance is unbearable sometimes, so marriage is something we had been intensely discussing for quite sometime. We found out that he was being deployed in September of this year, and that just gave us a little push towards engagement.
This trip that I had planned to Fort Riley, Kansas was a special one before I even knew it. He had just spent that past month in California at a training camp getting ready for deployment. We went 4 weeks without contact, and had been four months since seeing each other. We were so excited to see each other, I wasn't even expecting a proposal. His roommate's girlfriend was in town from Delaware, so we decided to go to a vineyard in town for a fun night of wine tasting. After sitting on the patio with this beautiful view for about an hour, William suggested that we take a walk around the vineyard. We found this beautiful amphitheater, were a wedding was taking place the next day. We were walking down the "aisle", when somehow he got the ring box from his roommate. We stopped in front of the "alter" and he got down on one knee. I was so shocked and excited, I didn't even say yes! I just cried and shook my head.
It was such a special and intamite moment, and something I will cherish for the rest of my life. I am so excited that I chose the career that I did. I have insight into the industry, and have a few tricks up my sleeve ;)
